Andy Schofield

Club Secretary, Senior Team Manager Coach, Referee and Mr Hull Cycle Speedway. Andy started racing in 1971 when the sport was re-introduced to Hull. Initially raced for the Hessle Hornet’s side and upon their demise transferred to the Anlaby Aces team in 1972 the forerunner of the current Hull club. Took over the running of the club in 1976 when current club chairman, Derek Hilton, left to take up a job in Norwich and has held the job ever since. Andy has at times, almost single handidly kept the club and sport alive in Hull and has been instrumental in the recent rise of the club. Andy retired from racing a few years ago due to health reasons. Works for British Aerospace and married to Sandra with a son Sam. Away from the sport Andy can be found following his beloved Scarborough AFC home and away.
