Derek Hilton

Club Chairman and the man responsible for re-introducing the sport back to Hull in 1971 following the return of motor speedway to the city. First became involved in the sport in the 1950’s when riding for the Derby Dukes team and returned to the saddle in a limited capacity in the 1970’s. Derek formed and led the Humberside league until his departure for Norwich in 1976. Married to Anne and now retired having previously enjoyed a career as a journalist Derek returned to an active role with the club a few years ago and his experience and contacts have proved invaluable in progressing the club both on and off the track in recent years.
